Frequently asked questions
We teach lessons at Clearfork Swim Club which is located at 8 Sherwood Dr in Lexington.
On the day of your lesson, please plan to arrive a few minutes early. You can let yourself in the gate, and confirm at the concession stand to let them know you are there for a private lesson.
No problem! Nonmembers will just have to pay the $5 guest fee at the front desk before each lesson. This fee will cover lesson time and any free swim for the rest of the day!
Since we are meeting at an outdoor facility, we will be subject to the weather. We are able to swim in a light sprinkle as long as it is warm. If it is very cold temperatures, if it is pouring, or if there is thunder or lightning, we will have to cancel. We have to wait 30 min from the last thunder rumble to re-enter the water. We will try to text any cancellations as soon as possible but when in doubt shoot us a text. Often times we are in the water and are unable to look at the radar! Any weather cancellation will be made up.
We offer one makeup lesson per package (two for packages of 12). We ask for at least four hours advance notice to cancel a lesson. Weather cancellations are always made up!
After paying the $5 guest fee before lessons, swimmers may stay at the pool for the remainder of the day. Any other family members or friends that want to swim as well will need to each pay the $5 guest fee.
We accept cash, checks, or Venmo! Checks made out to your instructor and Venmo to @Evan-Trumpower. Payment is due before the first lesson!
Goggles are recommended for learning to swim. We would suggest Speedo Skoogles or TYR Swiple for 8U, or for 8-12yr olds: Speedo Jr Vanquisher or Hyrospex (all easy to get on swimoutlet.com)
There are locker rooms for changing, but we suggest arriving with a swimsuit on.
Parents, please let your child know they should not enter the water before their lesson. This is simply to save their energy and focus on learning to swim! We don't want the kids cold, tired, and looking like raisins before we get to work together!
